Love your neighbour as yourself

Matthew 22 v39

Marwood School was built in 1853 when Reverend George Marwood bequeathed the land to provide a Church of England school in the village of Great Ayton.
As a Church school the distinctive Christian ethos is central to the life of the school
and we have close links with Christ Church in the village.

Reverend Paul Peverell, vicar of Christ Church, is our chairman of governors and he leads worship every Friday in School.

We also attend church every half term for worship in addition to special services throughout the year for Harvest, Christmas, Easter and Ascension Day.

The Marwood School Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for Marwood School and everybody in it.
Please help us to work hard and play happily together.
God bless our school.

Amen

Church Annual Report 2022 - School Section

Trinity Group

The Trinity Group consists of 6 children - 2 from each year group - supported by a Foundation Governor.  They hold meetings, take minutes and look for ways in which to develop our Christian Values within school.

Last year they were instrumental in the development of the Sacred Place with the making of crosses to use within that space.  They are currently looking at how we can look wider than our own community, with a focus on raising funds for Water Aid.

Christ Church Sunday School

is held in Christ Church Hall at 9.15am

We have a short service and lesson followed by a craft activity which
we share with the congregation at the end of the main service.

ALL CHILDREN AGED 4-11 YEARS ARE VERY WELCOME
For further information, please contact
Mrs Karen Peverell 01642 722333

Thank you so much for your generosity, we have filled three (big) vans of supplies for displaced people of the Ukraine, the initial hope was that one van would be filled so thankyou, everyone.
